1. Look at the bottom lip of the bottom carburetor mounting boot (rubber hose) between the carburetor and the cylinder head. You will locate the adjustment screw there.
2. If your machine has the original air cleaner assembly the mixture screw may not be visible due to the cover attached to the stock assembly. If so, remove the cover to access it.
3. Turn the mixture screw in (clockwise) until it seats lightly against its seat (count the turns).
4. Turn the mixture screw out (counter-clockwise) 2-1/2 turns. This is a good baseline setting for most machines as it will give the engine the correct air/fuel mixture for most altitude/condition combinations.
5. If the engine will not start or run smoothly at the above settings, adjust the mixture screw 1/4 turn at a time until you achieve smooth operation at idle.
