- New oil (1 quart)
- Oil filter (if applicable)
- Oil filter wrench (if applicable)
- Funnel
- Wrench
- Rags
Instructions:
1. Park the scooter on a level surface.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Locate the oil drain plug on the bottom of the engine. It is usually a 17mm bolt.
4. Place a drain pan under the oil drain plug and loosen the bolt with a wrench.
5. Allow the oil to drain completely.
6. Replace the oil drain plug.
7. Locate the oil fill hole on the top of the engine. It is usually a 14mm bolt.
8. Remove the oil fill plug and insert the funnel.
9. Add the new oil to the engine. The amount of oil required will vary depending on the model of scooter, but it is typically around 1 quart.
10. Replace the oil fill plug.
11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the oil throughout the engine.
12. Turn off the engine and check the oil level. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.
13. If necessary, add or remove oil to adjust the level.
Changing the Oil Filter
If your scooter has an oil filter, it should be changed at the same time as the oil. To change the oil filter, follow these steps:
1. Locate the oil filter on the engine. It is usually a cylindrical-shaped object near the top of the engine.
2. Loosen the oil filter with an oil filter wrench. Be careful not to spill any oil.
3. Remove the old oil filter and discard it.
4. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
5. Screw the new oil filter onto the engine until it is snug.
