1. Open the hood of your Honda CR-V.
2. Locate the engine oil filter housing. It is a cylindrical-shaped component with a black plastic cap on top. The oil filter housing is typically located on the front or side of the engine block, near the oil dipstick.
3. Remove the oil filter cap by turning it counterclockwise. Be careful not to spill any oil.
4. Remove the old oil filter from the housing. It may be necessary to use an oil filter wrench to loosen the filter.
5. Inspect the old oil filter for any signs of damage or wear.
6. Apply a thin coat of new engine oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
7. Screw the new oil filter into the housing until it is snug. Do not over-tighten the filter.
8. Replace the oil filter cap and tighten it securely.
9. Lower the hood of your Honda CR-V.
