How do you remove front sprocket on 1996 polaris magnum 6x6 at What holds the inner axle in?

To remove the front sprocket on a 1996 Polaris Magnum 6x6 ATV, you will need the following tools:

Socket set

Ratchet

Extension bar

10 mm socket

Locktight

Here are the steps to remove the front sprocket:

1. Make sure the ATV is safely parked on a level surface.

2. If you can see it, remove the cotter pin that holds the castle nut in place. If you don’t see it, you will need to remove the front hub first.

3. Loosen and remove the castle nut.

4. Remove the washer behind the castle nut.

5. Use a socket and ratchet to loosen and remove the front sprocket bolts.

6. Once the bolts are removed, you can pull the front sprocket off of the ATV.

To install the new front sprocket, simply reverse the steps above. Make sure to apply a small amount of Loctite to the threads of the bolts before reinstalling them. Tighten the bolts securely. If you took off the front hub, you will need to reinstall that. This includes:

- Installing the front axle through the hub so that it passes through the wheel and sprocket.

- Installing the washer and castle nut on the other end of the axle and securing them with a cotter pin.

- Reattach the brake caliper if it was removed.

Here is what holds the inner axle in:

The inner axle is held in place by the bearings inside of the front hub. The castle nut and cotter pin hold the axle in place so it does not come out.
