1. Turn off the engine and let it cool down so the engine is no longer hot to the touch.
2. Open the hood of your car.
3. Locate the battery.
4. Disconnect both the positive and negative terminals from the battery with the included wrench.
5. Wait at least 15 minutes to let any remaining power discharge from the vehicle's electrical system, allowing the ECU to completely reset.
6. Reconnect the positive and negative battery terminals.
7. Start the engine.
The ECU should have now been reset.
Please note that this process will clear any stored error codes or adaptations learned by the ECU. If there were any underlying issues that caused the ECU to go into safe mode or store error codes, these issues should be addressed before resetting the ECU.
