Instructions
1. Park the Land Rover on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Engage the parking brake, and chock the wheels.
3. Open the hood and disconnect the battery.
4. Remove the air filter housing.
5. Remove the radiator shroud and radiator hoses, taking care not to spill any coolant.
6. Disconnect the transmission lines from the transmission cooler.
7. Remove the starter motor and starter motor wiring.
8. Remove the exhaust system from the transmission.
9. Remove the driveshaft from the transmission.
10. Remove the crossmember that supports the transmission.
11. Unbolt the transmission from the engine and lower it to the ground.
To reinstall the transmission, follow these steps in reverse order.
1. Be sure to use a new transmission filter and gasket when reinstalling the transmission.
2. Tighten all the bolts and nuts to the specified torque.
3. Refill the transmission with the recommended type and amount of fluid.
4. Connect the battery, and start the engine.
5. Check for any leaks, and make sure the transmission shifts properly.
