-Phillips-head screwdriver
-Flat-head screwdriver
-Wire cutters
-Electrical tape
-Soldering iron and solder
-New rear speakers
1. Prepare the doors
-Remove the door panels by removing the screws that hold them in place.
- Disconnect the power window switch and any other electrical connections.
-Remove the speaker grilles by popping them off with a flat-head screwdriver.
2. Remove the old speakers
-Disconnect the speaker wires by cutting them with wire cutters.
-Unscrew the speaker from the door.
3. Install the new speakers
-Connect the speaker wires to the new speakers.
-Screw the new speakers into the door.
-Replace the speaker grilles.
4. Test the speakers
-Turn on the radio and make sure that the rear speakers are working.
5. Repeat for the other door
Tips:
-Be careful not to damage the door panels when removing them.
-Make sure that the speaker wires are connected properly before screwing the speakers into the door.
-Test the speakers before replacing the door panels.
-If you don’t already know how, this is also a great time to install sound dampening material behind the speakers in your doors. This can drastically increase the quality and quantity of sound from the speakers in your truck with minimal expense or labor.
