Instructions:
1. Park your Alero on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Disconnect the battery cables. (Negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal)
3. If necessary, raise the front of the vehicle with a jack and secure it with jack stands.
4. Locate the starter motor. It is usually mounted on the lower left side of the engine near the transmission.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the starter motor.
6. Remove the bolts holding the starter motor in place.
7. Remove the old starter motor from the vehicle.
8. Install the new starter motor in place, ensuring it is properly seated and aligned.
9. Reattach the mounting bolts and tighten them securely.
10. Reconnect the electrical connectors.
11. If you lifted the car, Lower the vehicle using jack stands.
12. Reconnect the battery cables (Positive terminal first, followed by the negative terminal).
13. Start the engine to check the new starter motor is working properly.
