1. Gather the necessary tools and parts.
- Screwdriver
- Philips head screwdriver
- Socket wrench set
- Replacement outside door handle
- Key lock cylinder (if necessary)
2. Remove the door panel.
- Use a screwdriver to pry up the plastic trim cover on the inside of the door handle.
- Remove the screws that are revealed underneath the trim cover.
- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the door panel in place.
- Gently pry the door panel off of the door, starting from the bottom and working your way up.
3. Disconnect the door handle linkage.
- Locate the door handle linkage, which is a metal rod that connects the outside door handle to the door latch.
- Use a screwdriver to pry off the plastic clip that holds the linkage in place.
- Disconnect the linkage from the door handle.
4. Remove the old outside door handle.
