1. A roll of automotive window defroster repair tape
2. A squeegee
3. A razor blade
4. Rubbing alcohol
5. A clean cloth
Here are the steps to reattach your rear defroster:
1. Clean the window and defroster wires with rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth. Ensure the surface is free of dirt, grease, and moisture.
2. Cut a piece of automotive window defroster repair tape long enough to cover the damaged area of the defroster.
3. Peel off the backing of the tape and carefully apply it to the defroster wires. Make sure the tape is flush with the window and that there are no air bubbles.
4. Use a squeegee to press the tape firmly onto the window.
5. Use a razor blade to trim any excess tape around the edges of the defroster.
Let the tape dry for at least 24 hours before using the defroster.
Please note that this should only be done for small repairs. Replacing damaged rear defrosters may be necessary for more serious damage. In that case, we recommend consulting a professional for proper installation.
