Does a car repossession go on your DMV report or only credit report?
A car repossession will show up on both your credit report and your Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) report. The DMV keeps track of all vehicle transactions, including repossessions. A repossession will remain on your credit report for seven years and can negatively impact your credit score. It will also make it difficult to obtain a loan or lease a vehicle in the future.
