How do I loosen the timing belt on a 1995 Chevrolet 1500?

To loosen the timing belt on a 1995 Chevrolet 1500, you will need the following tools:

1. 10mm socket wrench

2. 15mm socket wrench

3. Ratchet

4. Extension

5. Flat-head screwdriver

Here are the steps to loosen the timing belt:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the serpentine belt.

3. Remove the upper timing belt cover.

4. Locate the timing belt tensioner. It is located on the passenger side of the engine, just below the water pump.

5. Use the 15mm socket wrench to loosen the tensioner pulley bolt.

6. Use the flat-head screwdriver to pry the tensioner pulley away from the timing belt.

7. Use the 10mm socket wrench to loosen the idler pulley bolt.
