If you move to another state in what order do get a new license auto insurance and registration?

1. New License

- Notify the DMV of your new address within 10 days.

- Visit the DMV in your new state with the following: valid out-of-state license, proof of residency (utility bill or lease agreement), proof of vehicle insurance, and if applicable, a completed vision screening.

- Depending on the state you may be able to fill out an application online or in-person and make an appointment for your visit to the DMV.

- Once you pass the tests and application process, you will receive your new driver's license.

2. Auto insurance

- Start by shopping around for quotes from different insurance companies. Compare prices, coverage options, and customer service ratings.

- Some states require you to have bodily injury liability insurance and property damage liability insurance, while others may require additional types of coverage, such as uninsured motorist coverage.

- Make sure your policy meets the minimum requirements set by your new state.

- Purchase the auto insurance policy that best meets your needs and budget

- Once you've chosen an insurance policy, contact the company and provide them with the following information: Your name, address, and phone number; Your driver's license number; Your vehicle's make, model, and year; and The policy start date that works best for you.

- The insurance company will then send you a policy number and insurance ID card, which you should keep in your vehicle and present when you register your car.

3. Vehicle registration

- You will need to visit your new state’s DMV office with the following: your new driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, your vehicle’s title, a completed vehicle inspection report, and a completed application for vehicle registration.

- Depending on the state, you may also be required to pay vehicle registration fees, smog inspection fees, and taxes.

- Once you have submitted all the required documents and paid the applicable fees, you will receive your new vehicle registration.
