PARK the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine.
1. Locate the brake adjustment nuts on the rear axle housing. There will be two nuts for each wheel.
2. Loosen the locknuts on the brake adjustment nuts.
3. Use a wrench to turn the brake adjustment nuts clockwise until the brake shoes contact the brake drums.
4. Tighten the locknuts to secure the brake adjustment nuts in place.
5. Test the brakes by applying the brake pedal. The brakes should engage smoothly and evenly.
Here are some additional tips for adjusting the rear brakes on a Massey Ferguson 165 tractor:
* Make sure that the brake shoes are properly seated in the brake drums.
* If the brake shoes are worn, they will need to be replaced before adjusting the brakes.
