1. Gather the necessary materials.
* New wheel bearing assembly
* Wheel bearing grease
* Socket set
* Ratchet
* Pry bar
* Flathead screwdriver
* Hammer
2. Prepare your vehicle.
* Park your vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Chock the wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling.
* Remove the lug nuts on the wheel that the damaged wheel bearing is on.
* Remove the wheel.
3. Remove the brake caliper.
* Locate the brake caliper on the back of the wheel hub.
* Remove the bolts attaching the caliper to the hub.
* Gently pry the caliper off the rotor and set it aside.
* Remove the rotor.
4. Remove the wheel bearing assembly.
* Locate the wheel bearing assembly in the center of the wheel hub.
* Use a pry bar to pry the bearing assembly out of the hub.
* Be careful not to damage the hub.
5. Inspect the wheel bearing.
* Inspect the wheel bearing for damage, such as cracks or pitting.
* If the bearing is damaged, it must be replaced.
6. Grease the new bearing.
* Apply wheel bearing grease to the new bearing.
* Make sure the grease is evenly distributed.
7. Install the new bearing.
* Place the new bearing in the wheel hub.
* Use a hammer to gently tap the bearing into place.
* Make sure the bearing is seated correctly.
8. Reinstall the brake caliper.
* Place the brake caliper back on the wheel hub.
* Install the bolts to secure the caliper to the hub.
9. Reinstall the rotor.
* Place the rotor back on the wheel hub.
10. Reinstall the wheel.
* Place the wheel back on the lug nuts.
* Hand-tighten the lug nuts until they are snug.
* Tighten the lug nuts with a socket set and ratchet.
11. Test drive the vehicle.
* Take the vehicle for a test drive to make sure the wheel bearing is working properly.
