How does one replace a side mirror on Pontiac G5?

Replacing a Side Mirror on a Pontiac G5

Tools and Materials:

- Replacement side mirror

- Phillips head screwdriver

- Flathead screwdriver

- 10mm wrench

Instructions:

Step 1: Remove the Door Panel:

1. Open the door and remove the two screws from the bottom of the door panel.

2. Remove the two screws from the inside of the door handle.

3. Remove the two screws from the top of the door panel.

4. Gently pry up on the bottom of the door panel and pull it off.

Step 2: Disconnect the Mirror Connector:

1. Disconnect the mirror connector from the side mirror.

Step 3: Remove the Mirror Bolts:

1. Use the 10mm wrench to loosen the three bolts holding the mirror in place.

2. Remove the bolts.

Step 4: Remove the Mirror:

1. Gently pull the mirror off the door.

Step 5: Install the Replacement Mirror:

1. Align the replacement mirror with the holes in the door.

2. Insert the bolts and tighten them with the 10mm wrench.

3. Reconnect the mirror connector.

Step 6: Reattach the Door Panel:

1. Gently snap the door panel back into place.

2. Replace the six screws that you removed earlier.

Step 7: Test the Mirror:

1. Open and close the door to make sure the mirror is working properly.

Additional Notes:

- If the mirror does not adjust properly, you may need to adjust the tension on the cables.

- If the mirror is loose, you may need to tighten the bolts.

- If the mirror is rattling, you may need to add some weatherstripping.
