What if you are past due to register your drivers license after suspension in Texas?

Contact the Department of Public Safety (DPS)

The first step is to contact the DPS and explain your situation. They may be able to help you reinstate your license without having to pay the full amount of the late fees.

Pay the late fees

If you are unable to get the DPS to waive your late fees, you will need to pay them in order to reinstate your license. The late fees are as follows:

* $25 for the first 30 days

* $50 for the next 30 days

* $100 for each additional 30 days

Complete any required coursework

If your license was suspended for a moving violation, you may be required to complete a driver safety course before you can reinstate your license. The DPS will provide you with information about any required coursework.

Pass the driving test

Once you have paid the late fees and completed any required coursework, you will need to pass the driving test in order to reinstate your license.

Get your license reinstated

Once you have passed the driving test, you can go to the DPS to get your license reinstated. You will need to bring the following documents with you:

* Your driver's license

* Proof of insurance

* Proof of payment for the late fees

* Proof of completion of any required coursework

* The results of your driving test
