- Pry up the plastic trim on the inside of the door in order to remove it.
- Remove the screws that are holding the door panel in place.
- Gently pry the door panel up and off the door. To loosen the glue holding it on you may have to use a putty knife of other thin metal implement.
Step 2: Diagnose the problem.
- Inspect the window regulator and switch to identify the component that is causing the problem.
Step 3: Replace the window regulator.
- If the window regulator has failed, use the following steps to replace it:
1. Remove the two bolts that hold the window regulator in place.
2. Remove the two nuts that hold the power window motor in place.
3. Disconnect the power window motor from the electrical harness.
4. Remove the window regulator from the door.
5. Install the new window regulator in the reverse order of removal.
Step 4: Replace the switch.
- Disconnect the switch from the electrical harness.
- Remove the two screws that hold the switch in place.
- Remove the switch from the door.
- Install the new switch in the reverse order of removal.
Step 5: Test the power window.
- Once you have replaced the defective component, test the power window to make sure it is working properly.
