* 9/16" and 10mm sockets
* 17mm, 19mm and 22mm wrenches
* Flat-blade screwdriver
* Timing belt tensioner tool (Lisle 63500 or equivalent)
* New timing belt (Hyundai OEM 24312-17101 or equivalent)
* New water pump (Hyundai OEM 25100-35000 or equivalent)
* New serpentine belt (Hyundai OEM 66200-25001 or equivalent)
* Coolant (Hyundai OEM 00200-19100 or equivalent)
* Thread locker
* Shop manual for your specific vehicle
Instructions:
1. Remove the serpentine belt.
2. Remove the coolant drain plug from the bottom of the radiator and drain the coolant.
3. Remove the camshaft cover.
4. Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt and washer.
5. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
6. Remove the timing belt tensioner pulley bolt and washer.
7. Remove the timing belt tensioner pulley.
8. Remove the old timing belt.
9. Clean the timing belt area with a non-abrasive cleaner and a clean cloth.
10. Install the new timing belt.
11. Follow the instructions provided with the new timing belt to correctly align it with the camshaft and crankshaft gear.
12. Install the timing belt tensioner pulley and tighten the bolt to the manufacturer's specified torque.
13. Install the crankshaft pulley and tighten the bolt to the manufacturer's specified torque.
14. Install the camshaft cover.
15. Replace the coolant drain plug.
16. Refill the radiator with coolant.
17. Start the engine and check for leaks.
18. Turn the engine off and recheck the timing belt tension.
19. Install the serpentine belt.
