Instructions
1. Park the car in a level spot and turn off the engine.
2. Allow the engine to cool down.
3. Open the hood of the car.
4. Locate the water pump. It is usually located on the front of the engine, near the bottom.
5. Disconnect the negative cable from your car battery to ensure you don't get shocked.
6. Drain the coolant from the radiator. There is a drain plug located on the bottom of the radiator.
7. Remove the serpentine belt. To do this, loosen the tensioner pulley bolt and then remove the belt from the pulley.
8. Remove the water pump bolts. There are usually four bolts that hold the water pump in place.
9. Remove the old water pump. Be careful not to damage the gasket.
10. Clean the water pump mating surface.
11. Install the new water pump gasket.
12. Install the new water pump. Be sure to tighten the bolts securely.
13. Install the serpentine belt.
14. Refill the coolant. Add coolant to the radiator until it reaches the "full" mark.
15. Connect the negative battery cable.
16. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for leaks.
17. If there are no leaks, you can close the hood of the car and take it for a test drive.
Tips
-If you are not comfortable performing this repair yourself, you can take your car to a qualified mechanic.
-Make sure to dispose of the old coolant properly. Coolant is toxic and should not be dumped into the environment.
-If you are not sure what type of coolant to use, refer to your owner's manual.
