Tools Needed:
* Wrench
* Pliers
* Flashlight
* New fuel filter
* Rags
* Safety glasses
Instructions:
1. Locate the fuel filter. The fuel filter on the 1999 Nissan Maxima is located under the car, near the gas tank. There will be two fuel lines connected to the fuel filter.
2. Disconnect the fuel lines. Use a wrench to loosen the fuel line nuts. Be careful not to spill any gasoline.
3. Remove the old fuel filter. Once the fuel lines are disconnected, you can remove the old fuel filter.
4. Install the new fuel filter. Insert the new fuel filter into the fuel line connectors and tighten the fuel line nuts.
5. Connect the battery. Re-connect the battery cables to the battery.
6. Start the engine. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will allow the fuel filter to fill with gasoline.
7. Check for leaks. Inspect the fuel filter and fuel lines for any leaks. If you see any leaks, tighten the fuel line nuts until the leak stops.
Tips:
* Make sure to wear safety glasses when working on the fuel system.
* If you spill any gasoline, clean it up immediately with a rag.
* Be careful not to overtighten the fuel line nuts. This could damage the fuel lines.
