Materials Needed:
- Replacement turn signal bulb (usually an amber incandescent bulb)
- Phillips head screwdriver
Instructions:
1. Turn Off Power to the Turn Signal: Before touching any electrical components, make sure the Highlander's engine is off and the headlights and emergency blinkers are turned off.
2. Locate the Turn Signal Light Assembly: Open the hood of your Highlander. The front turn signal light assembly is usually located near the front corner of the vehicle, integrated with the headlight assembly.
3. Remove the Access Cover: There might be a small access cover on the inner side of the headlight assembly. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws holding the access cover in place and set the cover aside.
4. Locate the Bulb Socket: Once the access cover is removed, you should be able to see the turn signal bulb socket.
5. Twist and Remove the Bulb: The turn signal bulb is usually held in place by a twist-and-lock mechanism. Gently twist the bulb counterclockwise and pull it straight out of its socket.
6. Insert the New Bulb: Take the new turn signal bulb and insert it into the socket. Make sure that the bulb is seated correctly in the socket and turn it clockwise to lock it in place.
7. Test the Light: Turn the ignition on and activate the turn signal. Check that the new turn signal bulb is working correctly.
8. Replace the Access Cover: Once you have confirmed the new bulb is functioning properly, replace the access cover and ensure it is securely screwed back in place.
9. Turn Off Ignition: Turn off the vehicle and close the hood.
