Step 1: Gather the necessary tools.
- Philips head screwdriver
- Flat head screwdriver
- Pliers
Step 2: Open the rear hatch of your 4Runner.
Step 3: Locate the wiper arm cover.
- It is a black plastic cover located at the base of the wiper arm.
Step 4: Pry off the wiper arm cover.
- Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the cover. Be careful not to damage the paint on your 4Runner.
Step 5: Locate the wiper arm nut.
- It is a 12mm nut located at the base of the wiper arm.
Step 6: Loosen the wiper arm nut.
- Use a 12mm wrench to loosen the nut. Do not remove the nut completely.
Step 7: Lift the wiper arm off of the wiper spindle.
- Be careful not to drop the wiper arm.
Step 8: Remove the wiper blade from the wiper arm.
- Use a flathead screwdriver to pry the wiper blade off of the wiper arm.
Step 9: Reinstall the wiper arm cover.
- Press the wiper arm cover back into place.
Step 10: Repeat steps 4 through 9 for the other wiper arm.
