- Make sure the vehicle is parked on level ground with the engine turned off.
- Locate the VDC OFF switch on the vehicle. In the Xterra, this switch is usually located on the center console.
- Press and hold the VDC OFF switch for a few seconds until the VDC light turns off.
- Start the engine and check to make sure the VDC light remains off.
