To reset the maintenance required light in a 2008 Toyota Avalon:

1. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position, but do not start the engine.

2. Press and hold the "ODO/TRIP" button on the instrument panel until the display reads "TRIP A."

3. Press and hold the "ODO/TRIP" button until the display reads "MAINT REQD" and then release the button.

4. Press and hold the "ODO/TRIP" button again until the display reads "MAINT REQD RESET" and then release the button.

5. Turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position.

The maintenance required light should now be reset.
