How do you replace a spark plug on 2001 Mazda millenia s?

Tools and Materials Needed:

- Spark plug socket (5/8-inch)

- Spark plug wrench

- Extension bar

- Ratchet

- New spark plugs (4)

- Thread sealant

- Dielectric grease

Instructions:

1. Locate the spark plugs. They are located on the top of the cylinder head. There is one spark plug per cylinder, so there should be four in total.

2. Disconnect the spark plug wires. Use the spark plug wrench to loosen the spark plug wire nuts. Then, pull the wires off of the spark plugs.

3. Remove the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket and extension bar to loosen the spark plugs. Then, unscrew the spark plugs by hand and remove them from the cylinder head.

4. Inspect the old spark plugs. Check the spark plugs for wear and damage. The electrodes should be clean and free of pitting or erosion. If the spark plugs are worn or damaged, they will need to be replaced.

5. Apply thread sealant to the new spark plugs. This will help to prevent the spark plugs from leaking oil or coolant.

6. Insert the new spark plugs into the cylinder head. Screw the spark plugs in by hand until they are snug. Then, use the spark plug wrench to tighten them until they are snug.

7. Reconnect the spark plug wires. Make sure to reconnect the spark plug wires to the correct spark plugs.

8. Start the engine and test the spark plugs. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Then, check the spark plugs for leaks. If there are any leaks, the spark plugs will need to be tightened further.

Tips:

- If the spark plugs are difficult to remove, you can try using a penetrating oil to loosen them up.

- Be careful not to drop the spark plugs into the cylinder head. If you do, you will need to use a magnet to retrieve them.
