Instructions:
1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool down.
2. Open the hood of your vehicle
3. Locate the valve gasket cover. It is located at the top of the engine, just below the intake manifold.
4. Remove the bolts that hold the valve gasket cover in place. Use the 10mm socket wrench to remove the bolts.
5. Gently pry the valve gasket cover off of the engine using a flat-head screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the gasket.
6. Remove the old valve gasket from the valve gasket cover. Use a gasket scraper to remove the gasket.
7. Clean the valve gasket cover and the engine surface where the gasket will be installed. Use a degreaser and a clean rag to clean the surfaces.
8. Apply a thin bead of RTV silicone sealant to the valve gasket cover. Be sure to apply the sealant to the areas where the gasket will be installed.
9. Install the new valve gasket onto the valve gasket cover. Make sure that the gasket is properly seated.
10. Install the bolts that hold the valve gasket cover in place. Use the 10mm socket wrench to tighten the bolts.
11. Replace the oil fill cap.
12. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks.
Tips:
- Replace the valve gasket cover immediately if it is damaged. A damaged valve gasket cover can lead to leaks.
- Be sure to torque the bolts to the proper specifications as listed in service manual.
- Always dispose of old gaskets properly.
