How do you disable the 4 wheel drive on a Honda CR-V?

If your CR-V has a manual transmission, follow these steps

1. Stop the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.

2. Shift the transmission into neutral.

3. Open the hood and locate the transfer case shift lever. It is usually located on the passenger side of the transmission.

4. Pull the transfer case shift lever to the "2WD" position.

5. Close the hood and start the vehicle.

6. Drive the vehicle for a few minutes to make sure the four-wheel drive is disabled.

If your CR-V has an automatic transmission, follow these steps:

1. Stop the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.

2. Put the transmission in "Park."

3. Open the hood and locate the transfer case shift lever. It is usually located on the passenger side of the transmission.

4. Pull the transfer case shift lever to the "2WD" position.

5. Close the hood and start the vehicle.

6. Drive the vehicle for a few minutes to make sure the four-wheel drive is disabled.
