1. Gather tools and materials.
- New rear wiper blade (compatible with your vehicle)
- Microfiber towel
- Glass cleaner
- Philips-head screwdriver (if necessary)
2. Prepare the vehicle.
- Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
- Shift the transmission to the "Park" position (for automatic transmission vehicles).
3. Locate the rear wiper blade.
- The rear wiper blade is located above the rear window on the lift gate.
4. Release the wiper arm.
- Some models of Acura MDX may have a small plastic cover on the wiper arm. Gently pry it up with your fingers or a flat-head screwdriver to reveal the nut.
- Use the Philips-head screwdriver to loosen and remove the nut holding the wiper arm in place.
5. Remove the old wiper blade.
- Lift the wiper arm to a perpendicular position.
- Press the release tab on the wiper blade and pull it straight up and away from the wiper arm.
6. Install the new wiper blade.
- Insert the new wiper blade into the wiper arm until it clicks into place.
- Press down on the release tab to secure the blade in place.
7. Reattach the wiper arm.
- Position the wiper arm back onto the mounting pin.
- Secure the arm by tightening the nut using a Philips-head screwdriver.
- Replace the plastic cover (if applicable).
8. Clean the windshield.
- Use a glass cleaner and a clean microfiber towel to remove any dirt or debris from the rear window.
9. Test the rear wiper.
- Spray a small amount of glass cleaner onto the rear window and activate the rear wiper. Make sure the blade wipes the window effectively and without any skipping or chattering.
10. Discard the old wiper blade.
- Dispose of the old wiper blade responsibly by recycling it according to local regulations.
