- A new sliding door lock
- A screwdriver
- A pair of pliers
- A drill
- A 1/4-inch drill bit
- A 3/8-inch drill bit
- A 1/2-inch drill bit
- A 5/8-inch drill bit
- A 1-inch drill bit
2. Remove the old sliding door lock.
- Use the screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the interior door panel in place.
- Once the screws are removed, carefully pry the door panel off of the door.
- Locate the sliding door lock. It is located on the inside of the door, near the top.
- Use the screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the door lock in place.
- Once the screws are removed, pull the door lock out of the door.
3. Install the new sliding door lock.
- Position the new door lock in the door.
- Secure the door lock with the two screws that you removed in the previous step.
- Insert the key into the lock and turn it to lock and unlock the door.
- Check to make sure that the lock is working properly.
4. Reattach the door panel.
- Position the door panel on the door.
- Secure the panel with the two screws that you removed in step 2.
- Test the door to make sure that it opens and closes properly.
5. You have now successfully replaced the sliding door lock on your 1991 Toyota Previa.
