How do you set the Cruise Control on a 1997 Nissan Altima GXE?

To set the cruise control on a 1997 Nissan Altima GXE:

1. Ensure the vehicle is in motion and traveling at a speed greater than 25 mph (40 km/h)

2. Press the CRUISE button on the left side of the steering wheel to activate cruise control. The green indicator light on the instrument panel will illuminate, and the current speed will be displayed in the odometer display.

3. Use the COAST button to decrease the set speed or the RES/ACCEL button to increase the set speed.

4. To deactivate cruise control, press the CANCEL button, or depress the brake pedal. The green indicator light on the instrument panel will turn off.

Note: To engage the cruise control without setting a specific speed, press the RES/ACCEL button while coasting. The vehicle will accelerate to and maintain the current speed. To set a specific speed while cruise control is engaged, use the COAST or RES/ACCEL buttons.
