Flat-head screwdriver
12V replacement bulb (check your owner’s manual for the correct bulb type)
Replacement fuse (if necessary)
Step-by-step guide:
Turn off the engine and ensure that the car is parked in a safe location.
Locate the faulty dome light. It is usually located in the center of the roof of the car.
Gently pry open the lens cover of the dome light using the flat-head screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the lens cover or the surrounding trim.
Remove the old bulb by gently pulling it out of its socket. Make note of the orientation of the old bulb so you can insert the new one correctly.
Inspect the socket for any signs of damage or corrosion. If the socket is damaged, you may need to replace it before installing the new bulb.
Insert the new bulb into the socket, ensuring that it is properly seated. Make sure to insert the bulb in the same orientation as the old one.
Replace the lens cover and press it firmly until it snaps into place.
Test the dome light to ensure that it is working properly.
If the dome light does not work after replacing the bulb, you may need to replace the fuse. The fuse box for your Jaguar S-Type is usually located in the trunk. Refer to your owner’s manual for the exact location.
Identify the fuse that controls the dome light and replace it with a new fuse of the same amperage rating.
Test the dome light again to ensure that it is working properly.
If the dome light does not work after replacing the bulb and fuse, you may need to consult a qualified mechanic for further assistance.
