How do you Change batteries in 2001 Nissan Pathfinder?

Tools and materials needed:

- New battery (group size 35)

- 10mm socket wrench

- Phillips head screwdriver

Instructions:

_1. Park your Pathfinder in a safe location and turn off the engine._

_2. Open the hood._

_3. Locate the battery in the engine bay. It is typically located on the passenger side, near the front of the vehicle._

_4. Disconnect the negative battery cable (the black cable)._

* Use the 10mm socket wrench to loosen the nut that holds the cable in place.

* Pull the cable off of the battery terminal.

_5. Disconnect the positive battery cable (the red cable)._

* Use the 10mm socket wrench to loosen the nut that holds the cable in place.

* Pull the cable off of the battery terminal.

_6. Remove the battery hold down clamp._

_7. Lift the battery out of the engine bay._

Be careful, the battery is heavy!

_8. Place the new battery in the engine bay._

_9. Replace the battery hold down clamp._

_10. Connect the positive battery cable (the red cable)._

* Place the cable on the positive battery terminal.

* Tighten the nut with the 10mm socket wrench.

_11. Connect the negative battery cable (the black cable)._

* Place the cable on the negative battery terminal.

* Tighten the nut with the 10mm socket wrench.

_12. Close the hood._
