1. Gather your tools and materials. You will need a scan tool or code reader, a jumper wire, and a 10mm wrench or socket.
2. Locate the diagnostic connector under the dashboard on the passenger side of the vehicle. It is usually located near the fuse box.
3. Connect the scan tool or code reader to the diagnostic connector.
4. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position, but do not start the engine.
5. Use the scan tool or code reader to retrieve the trouble codes stored in the vehicle's computer. This will help identify the cause of the Check Engine Soon light.
6. Once you have identified the trouble codes, use the scan tool to erase them from the vehicle's computer.
7. Disconnect the scan tool from the diagnostic connector.
8. Turn off the ignition key.
9. Wait for a few minutes, then turn the ignition key back to the "ON" position to start the engine.
10. The Check Engine Soon light should now be reset if you have correctly followed these steps.
