2. Connect the OBD-II code reader/scanner to the vehicle's diagnostic port, which is usually located under the dashboard.
3. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine.
4. Follow the prompts on the code reader/scanner to select the option to reset the check engine light.
5. Confirm the reset and turn off the ignition.
6. Start the engine and the check engine light should be off.
If the check engine light reappears after resetting, it indicates an ongoing issue with the engine that needs to be diagnosed and repaired. In that case, it's recommended to have the vehicle checked by a qualified mechanic.
