Instructions:
1. Disconnect the battery.
- Locate the negative battery terminal, usually marked with a "-" sign.
- Loosen the nut on the negative terminal using the wrench set and remove the cable from the terminal.
2. Remove the serpentine belt.
- Locate the serpentine belt, usually a long, thin belt that runs around several pulleys on the engine.
- Use the wrench to loosen the tensioner pulley and remove the belt from the pulleys.
3. Remove the old alternator.
- Locate the alternator, usually mounted on the front of the engine with two or three bolts holding it in place.
- Remove the bolts using the wrench and set aside the old alternator.
4. Install the new alternator.
- Position the new alternator in place and secure it with the bolts removed in step 3.
- Make sure the alternator is properly seated and the bolts are tight.
5. Reinstall the serpentine belt.
- Place the serpentine belt back onto the pulleys and tighten the tensioner pulley to secure the belt.
6. Reconnect the battery.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable to the negative terminal and tighten the nut.
7. Start the engine and test the alternator.
- Start the van and let it run for a few minutes.
- Check the voltage output of the alternator using a multimeter. The voltage should be around 14-15 volts.
8. Road test the van.
- Take the van for a short drive to ensure the alternator is functioning properly and charging the battery.
