1. Park your car in a safe location. Pull over to the side of the road in a well-lit area, away from traffic. Turn on your hazard lights and set the parking brake.
2. Loosen the lug nuts. Use the lug wrench that came with your car to loosen the lug nuts on the stuck tire. Turn the lug wrench counterclockwise until the nuts are loose but not removed.
3. Jack up your car. Place the jack under the frame of your car, near the stuck tire. Follow the instructions that came with your jack to raise the car until the tire is off the ground.
4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the tire. Use the lug wrench to remove the lug nuts and then take off the tire.
5. Inspect the tire and rim. Look for any damage to the tire or rim. If you see any damage, you will need to replace the tire or rim before you can drive your car.
6. Put the spare tire on. Place the spare tire on the lug nuts and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
7. Lower the car. Use the jack to lower the car until it is back on the ground.
8. Tighten the lug nuts. Use the lug wrench to tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern, tightening each lug nut a little bit at a time until they are snug.
9. Drive slowly to a tire shop. Drive slowly to a tire shop or auto repair shop to have the flat tire repaired or replaced.
Note: If you are unable to remove the stuck tire yourself, you can call for roadside assistance.
