To repair the horn, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Locate the horn relay. On the 2001 Dodge Durango, it is located in the fuse box under the hood.
3. Remove the horn relay from the fuse box.
4. Test the horn relay by applying 12 volts to the terminals. If the horn relay clicks, it is good. If it does not click, replace it.
5. If the horn relay is good, check the horn fuse. It is also located in the fuse box under the hood.
6. If the horn fuse is blown, replace it.
7. If the horn relay and horn fuse are both good, check the horn itself. The horn is located behind the front bumper.
8. To remove the horn, you will need to remove the front bumper.
9. Once the front bumper is removed, you will be able to access the horn.
10. Disconnect the electrical connector from the horn.
11. Remove the horn mounting screws.
12. Remove the horn from the vehicle.
13. Test the horn by applying 12 volts to the terminals. If the horn works, reinstall it.
14. If the horn does not work, replace it.
15. Reinstall the front bumper.
16. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
