- Replacement brake light bulb (1156)
- Plastic trim tool or flat head screwdriver
- Gloves
Instructions:
1. Park your car in a safe location and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake to ensure that the car does not move while you are working on it.
2. Locate the brake light assembly on the rear of your vehicle. There are two brake light assemblies, one on each side of the vehicle.
3. Check to see if there are release buttons you can press to loosen the brake light assemblies. If you find release buttons, press them and remove the brake light assemblies. You may need to press several release buttons to completely loosen the assemblies and you may need to wiggle the assemblies gently before they come off. If there are no release buttons found on your vehicle, proceed to step 4.
4. Use a plastic trim tool or flat-head screwdriver to pry open the brake light assembly housing. Be careful not to damage the paint on your car.
5. Remove the old brake light bulb by turning it counterclockwise.
6. Insert the new brake light bulb into the socket and turn it clockwise until it is secure.
7. Snap the brake light assembly housing back into place.
8. Test the brake lights to make sure they are working properly.
