Locate the clutch cable adjuster. It is usually located near the clutch lever on the left side of the motorcycle.
Use a screwdriver or other suitable tool to turn the adjuster screw. Turning the screw counterclockwise will loosen the cable, while turning it clockwise will tighten it.
Adjust the cable until there is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch (3 to 6 millimeters) of free play at the clutch lever. This means that you should be able to pull the lever in about that much before it starts to engage the clutch.
Check the clutch operation by pulling the lever in all the way and releasing it. The clutch should engage and disengage smoothly without any jerking or grabbing.
If necessary, make further adjustments to the cable until you are satisfied with the clutch operation.
