1. Locate the EGR valve. It is located on the passenger side of the engine, near the top.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR valve.
3. Remove the two bolts that hold the EGR valve in place.
4. Lift the EGR valve out of the engine.
5. Clean the EGR valve with a solvent and a toothbrush.
6. Inspect the EGR valve for damage. If it is damaged, replace it.
7. Reinstall the EGR valve in the reverse order of removal.
