How do you change front brakes on 2000 mountaineer?

Tools and materials needed:

- Lug wrench

- Jack and jack stands

- C-clamp

- Flathead screwdriver

- Socket set

- Brake cleaner

- Brake fluid

- New brake pads

- New rotors (if necessary)

Instructions:

1. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.

2. Use a C-clamp to compress the brake caliper piston. You may also use a flathead screwdriver if you do not have a C-clamp.

3. Remove the caliper bolts.

4. Remove the old brake pads.

5. Clean the brake caliper and rotor with brake cleaner.

6. Install the new brake pads.

7. Reinstall the caliper bolts.

8. Pump the brake pedal until you build pressure up.

9. Recheck brake fluid level and add more if needed.

10. Reinstall the wheel and lug nuts.

11. Lower the vehicle and test the brakes.

Note: If you are replacing the rotors, you will need to remove the caliper and brake pads first. Then, you can loosen the rotor bolts and remove the old rotors. Install the new rotors and reassemble the brake system.
