1. Gather the necessary tools and materials. You will need a set of metric wrenches, a set of Torx bits, a flat-head screwdriver, a pry bar, a hammer, and a set of new lifters.
2. Prepare the engine. Disconnect the battery and remove the air intake system.
3. Remove the camshaft cover. Use a Torx bit to remove the bolts holding the camshaft cover in place. Be careful not to drop any of the bolts into the engine.
4. Locate the lifters. The lifters are located in the cylinder head, under the camshaft.
5. Remove the old lifters. Use a pry bar to pry the old lifters out of the cylinder head. Be careful not to damage the lifter bores.
6. Clean the lifter bores. Use a brush and solvent to clean the lifter bores.
7. Install the new lifters. Carefully slide the new lifters into the lifter bores. Make sure that the lifters are properly seated.
8. Reinstall the camshaft cover. Replace the camshaft cover bolts and tighten them securely.
