How difficult is it to change a drive shaft left on front wheel Honda?

Difficulty: Intermediate

Here are the steps on how to change a drive shaft on a front wheel drive Honda:

1. Gather the necessary tools and parts. You will need a new drive shaft, a socket wrench set, a breaker bar, a floor jack, and jack stands.

2. Park your car on a level surface and apply the parking brake. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.

3. Raise the front of your car using the floor jack and jack stands. Make sure that the car is securely supported before you begin working.

4. Remove the lug nuts from the front wheels and take off the wheels.

5. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left. This will give you better access to the drive shaft.

6. Locate the drive shaft. It is a long, cylindrical metal tube that runs from the transmission to the front wheels.

7. Unbolt the drive shaft from the transmission and the front wheels. Use the socket wrench and breaker bar to loosen and remove the bolts.

8. Pull the drive shaft out of the car. Be careful not to damage the drive shaft or any of the surrounding components.

9. Install the new drive shaft. Insert the new drive shaft into the car and bolt it in place.

10. Reattach the front wheels and lug nuts. Tighten the lug nuts until they are snug.

11. Lower the car using the floor jack and jack stands. Remove the floor jack and jack stands.

12. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right, then back to the left. This will help to seat the drive shaft properly.

Tips:

* If you are not comfortable changing a drive shaft yourself, you can take your car to a mechanic to have it done.

* Be careful not to drop the drive shaft or any of the components.

* If the drive shaft is damaged, you will need to replace it.
