How do you remove the rear rotors from a 2000 ford explorer?

To remove the rear rotors from a 2000 Ford Explorer, you will need the following tools:

• A lug wrench

• A jack and jack stands

• A C-clamp or large pliers

• A flathead screwdriver

• A hammer

1. Loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheels. Do not remove the lug nuts completely.

2. Raise the rear of the vehicle with a jack and place jack stands under the frame. Make sure the vehicle is stable before proceeding.

3. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheels.

4. Locate the two caliper bolts on the back of the caliper. Use a 13mm socket to loosen the bolts.

5. Remove the caliper bolts and take off the caliper. Be careful not to damage the brake line.

6. Use a C-clamp or large pliers to compress the caliper piston back into the caliper.

7. Insert a flathead screwdriver between the rotor and the hub. Use a hammer to tap the screwdriver until the rotor breaks loose from the hub.

8. Lift the rotor off the hub.

To reinstall the rear rotors, follow these steps in reverse order.

Here are some additional tips:

• Make sure that the parking brake is off before starting this procedure.

• If the rotor is stuck to the hub, you can try using a penetrating oil to loosen it up.

• Be careful not to damage the brake line when removing the caliper.
