- Use an axle nut socket and a breaker bar to loosen and remove the axle nut. Note that the axle nut may be very tight and will require significant force to remove.

6. Separate the hub from the steering knuckle

- Use a pry bar to separate the hub from the steering knuckle. Be careful not to damage the steering knuckle or hub.

- Pry between the hub and the knuckle with a prybar. Pry from several points all the way around the flange. Continue prying until the hub pops loose from the knuckle and you can slide the hub off of the spindle.

7. Remove the old bearing

- Remove the old bearing from the hub by using a hammer to drive it out. Be careful not to damage the hub.

8. Install new bearing

- Place the new bearing into the hub and use the hammer to drive it in until it is fully seated. Be careful not to damage the bearing.

9. Install axle nut

- Thread the axle nut onto the spindle and tighten it until its seated against the hub.

10. Reassemble the brake caliper and hubcap.

- Reattach the brake caliper and hubcap.

11. Remount the tire and wheel assembly.

- Place the wheel on the hub and reattach the lug nuts.

- Lower the vehicle and snug up then fully tighten the lug nuts with a lug wrench.

12. Test drive the vehicle

- Take the vehicle for a test drive to verify that the hub bearing has been properly installed and that there are no unusual noises or vibrations.

Note: It is recommended that you have the front hub bearing replaced by a qualified mechanic if you are not comfortable performing the task yourself.
