Why would one windscreen wiper not work on a MG TF?

1. Blown fuse: If one windscreen wiper is not working, the first thing to check is the fuse. The fuse box is usually located under the dashboard or in the engine bay. Check the owner's manual for the location of the fuse box and the specific fuse that controls the windscreen wipers. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new one of the same amperage.

2. Faulty switch: The windscreen wiper switch is another common cause of wiper problems. The switch is usually located on the steering column or dashboard. Try operating the switch to see if it is working properly. If the switch is faulty, it will need to be replaced.

3. Faulty wiper motor: If the fuse and switch are working properly, the next step is to check the wiper motor. The wiper motor is usually located under the cowl panel at the base of the windscreen. Check the motor for any signs of damage or corrosion. If the motor is faulty, it will need to be replaced.

4. Faulty linkage: The windscreen wiper linkage is a series of arms and linkages that connect the wiper motor to the wiper blades. Check the linkage for any signs of damage or wear. If the linkage is faulty, it will need to be repaired or replaced.

5. Obstructed wiper blades: Make sure that the wiper blades are not obstructed by anything. Check the wiper blades for any dirt, debris, or ice that may be preventing them from moving properly. If the wiper blades are obstructed, clean them or replace them.
