How do you replace the rear wiper assembly on an Audi A6 avant?

Replacing the rear wiper assembly on an Audi A6 Avant involves removing the existing wiper assembly and installing a new one. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Tools Needed:

- Flat-head screwdriver

- Phillips-head screwdriver

- 10mm socket wrench

- Extension bar

- New rear wiper assembly

Step 1: Remove the Wiper Arm

- Locate the wiper arm on the rear of the vehicle.

- Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry open the small cover at the base of the wiper arm.

- Once the cover is removed, use a 10mm socket wrench with an extension bar to loosen and remove the nut holding the wiper arm in place.

- Gently lift and remove the wiper arm from the threaded splined shaft.

Step 2: Disconnect the Electrical Connection

- Underneath the wiper arm, you'll find the electrical connection for the rear wiper motor.

- Gently push down on the release tab on the electrical connector and pull it apart to disconnect it.

Step 3: Remove the Wiper Assembly

- Locate the three Phillips-head screws holding the wiper assembly in place.

- Remove the three screws.

Step 4: Remove the Wiper Motor Assembly

- Locate the wiper motor unit directly below the wiper assembly.

- Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor by pushing down on the release tab.

- Remove the three bolts securing the wiper motor assembly from the vehicle using your socket wrench.

- Pull the wiper motor assembly out from the body of the vehicle.

Step 5: Install the New Wiper Assembly

- Transfer the electrical connections from the old wiper motor assembly to the new one.

- Place the new wiper assembly in its proper position and secure it using the three bolts you removed earlier.

- Attach the electrical connection to the wiper motor.

Step 6: Reinstall the Wiper Arm

- Place the wiper arm back onto the threaded splined shaft.

- Thread the nut back on and tighten it with the 10mm socket wrench and extension bar.

- Snap the small cover back into place to hide the nut.

Step 7: Test the Wiper

- Turn on the rear wiper switch to ensure the new assembly is functioning correctly.

The rear wiper assembly on your Audi A6 Avant should now be successfully replaced.
