* A Phillips head screwdriver
* A flat head screwdriver
* A 10mm socket wrench
* A ratchet
* A new door handle (available at most auto parts stores)
Instructions:
1. Open the door of the BMW Z3.
2. Locate the two Phillips head screws on the inner side of the door handle. Remove these screws.
3. Use the flat head screwdriver to pry off the cover of the door handle.
4. Locate the 10mm bolt on the inside of the door handle. This bolt secures the door handle to the door. Remove this bolt.
5. Lift the door handle out of the door. Place it in a safe place where it will not get lost.
6. Now install the new door handle. Reverse the steps that you used to remove the old door handle, installing the new door handle in reverse order of the way you removed the old one.
7. Tighten all of the bolts and screws that you removed when taking off the old door handle.
8. Open and close the door to make sure that the door handle is working properly.
9. Test the door from the outside: check if the handle has an adequate range of motion, and that there is an appropriate grip surface or texture for the occupant (for example no sharp corners with no padding over them on metal door handles);
If the handle is working properly, then you have successfully repaired the door handle of your BMW Z3!
