Camshaft sprocket:
* There is a single mark on the camshaft sprocket.
* The mark is a small notch or dot.
Crankshaft sprocket:
* There are two marks on the crankshaft sprocket.
* One mark is a small notch or dot.
* The other mark is a larger notch or dot.
Timing marks:
* The timing marks on the camshaft and crankshaft sprockets must be aligned with each other in order to ensure that the engine is properly timed.
* The small notch or dot on the camshaft sprocket must be aligned with the small notch or dot on the crankshaft sprocket.
* The larger notch or dot on the crankshaft sprocket must be aligned with the 12 o'clock position on the timing chain cover.
To align the timing marks:
1. Remove the timing chain cover.
2. Turn the crankshaft until the small notch or dot on the crankshaft sprocket is aligned with the small notch or dot on the camshaft sprocket.
3. Turn the camshaft until the larger notch or dot on the crankshaft sprocket is aligned with the 12 o'clock position on the timing chain cover.
4. Install the timing chain cover.
